Restylane

Made in Sweden, Restylane is a stabilized hyaluronic acid, which means it can stay in the tissue for a long time. Treatments with Restylane are effective and tolerable. There are millions of individuals worldwide that have been treated successfully with Restylane. Restylane is a clear gel and is a non-animal product; therefore there is no risk of transmitting diseases or eliciting an allergic reaction. It can be used instantly without pre-testing. After injection Restylane binds with water and generally remains in the area of the treatment for a long time. Nutrients, oxygen and hormones are able to pass freely between the injected Restylane particles, leaving the skin healthy and natural looking. Restylane is used to improve tiny lines in the aging face such as lines around the eyes, mouth and forehead or it is used to augment lips or to add additional volume to cheeks and chin.

Perlane

Perlane is also a stabilized hyaluronic acid, but with bigger molecules. Perlane is appropriate for individuals with deeper wrinkles or for those wanting to add additional volume to cheeks or chin. Both Restylane and Perlane are safe and long lasting, but they are not permanent. Touch ups can be performed at any time after the initial treatment; most patients choose to have touch-up treatment within 6-12 months. The treatment is quick and takes about 10 minutes and the results are immediate. For treating wrinkles an anesthetic cream is usually used to anesthetize the skin. For lip augmentation a local anesthetic is often used. After treatment mild swelling, tenderness and bruising at the site of implant is normal and subsides in a few days. Other reactions such as of a hypersensitivity nature are rare; however they are self-limiting and generally subside with in two weeks. After the treatment the injected implant is felt soft and feels natural to touch and look.

BOTOX®

Botox is a FDA approved drug (botulium toxin type A) that has been used over a decade for different conditions and now has become a popular treatment for reversing the signs of aging. Botox relaxes the targeted facial muscles, eliminating wrinkles, frown lines, crow's feet and horizontal forehead lines, rejuvenates the neck and gives a lift to the eye brows; therefore it is an alternative to brow lift surgery. Another use of Botox is regulation of excessive sweating or hyperhydrosis. Botox is used as an injection with a tiny needle. The procedure takes about 10 minutes and it is safe and simple. Small bruising at the site of injection might occur which can be easily camouflaged with makeup. After treatment, the wrinkles are gradually reduced in 2-5 days, and normal facial expression is preserved. The effect of Botox is temporary, and the treatment needs to be repeated every 3 to 4 months.
